Our client started in earthworks and demolition but has grown tremendously over the years. Today they are experts in infrastructure works, transportation and recycling with an ever-growing focus on hydraulic engineering.
They are looking for a freelance finance manager.
What does your day look like as a freelance finance manager?
As Financial Manager, you play a crucial role in designing and implementing financial policies. You work closely with the management and legal department and key players within the various business units, such as contracting, transport and recycling.
With your keen understanding of financial processes and your hands-on mentality, you make sure the numbers are clear and understandable for everyone. You are not afraid to delve into the operational side of our business and use your expertise to provide targeted advice.
You continuously monitor the strategic direction and have a keen eye for new developments and opportunities. In addition, you manage the finance team and lead our accounting manager. You maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that our financial position is always optimal.
Specific Duties:
- Elaborate investment decisions in consultation with management.
- Design and improve financial processes and internal controls, perform financial analysis of the various business units, report KPIs in the financial dashboard.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and multi-year financial planning.
- Monthly reporting of financial results and management figures.
- Maintain contacts with financial institutions.
- Support audits.
- Supervision of full accounting and monthly closings.
- Supervision of accounts receivable and accounts payable management.
- Management of administrative and tax-legal obligations.
- Monitor our liquidity and make adjustments as needed.
What do we expect from you as a freelance finance manager?
- You hold a Master's degree in Commercial Science, Economics (TEW), Finance or Commercial Engineering.
- You can present at least 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the construction industry and/or in a family business.
- You are exceptionally analytical, while maintaining helicopter view.
- You are proficient with ERP packages and BI (Business Intelligence) for reporting.
- You communicate clearly and deliver your message in a non-technical but concrete way.
- You are able to work closely with your own team and colleagues in the other business units.
- You have a positive attitude coupled with strategic insight.
- You have a hands-on attitude, sense of initiative.
- You work in a solution-oriented, enthusiastic and persuasive manner.
You will join a close-knit team of about 11 colleagues. There is an open culture and a hard worker mentality.
This is a full-time position (4/5th could be possible as well) working in the office.
Sliding hours are used.
This is a freelance assignment until the permanent employee is found, unless you really like it there as a freelancer and they want to continue working with you.
