Freelance Billing Clerk

Our client is a large transportation company with as many as 950 employees across its 13 locations! 🚛✨

For their headquarters in Zellik, we are looking for an enthusiastic freelance billing clerk to join our team.


🔍 Who are we looking for?

👉 Someone who is energized by invoicing and values accuracy.


These are your duties as a freelance billing clerk:

° Control of transport orders executed:

  • Collecting and checking executed orders by customer
  • Checking extra tasks performed by drivers and time overruns
  • Verifying internal data against electronic data and transport documents

° Communication with customers (is mainly done by your supervisors):

  • Reporting waiting hour overruns
  • Preparing data flow regarding extra costs incurred during the execution of transport orders and submitting them to customers for approval
  • Processing the additional charges approved by the customer
  • Answering any questions from the customers

° Manage rates and surcharges:

  • Apply appropriate rates/tariff tables during the billing process according to agreements made with the customer
  • Updating rates, individually and/or collectively in response to changes (increases, surcharges,...)

° Classification:

  • Taking care of the filing of documents

° Invoicing and accounts receivable:

  • Performing billing runs and follow up on accounts receivable

This is your profile as a freelance billing clerk:

  • Experience with invoicing is a must
  • You navigate effortlessly in Excel
  • Accurate and organized
  • Mathematical and control freak
  • Stress resistant and you can handle deadlines well
  • You speak very good Dutch and are not afraid to speak and write French
  • Experience in the logistics industry is a plus
  • You are very fast along, learn quickly
  • You are available full-time asap (4/5th is also possible with the right experience)

  • This is an assignment of +- 8 weeks until the permanent employee is found. So the assignment can be extended.
  • We are looking for someone who is available full time starting January 17. 4/5th may also be possible with the right experience.
  • We work at the office (difficult to reach by public transport) with sliding hours. Please do let us know the day before what time you will be there the next day (matter of good planning).
