Walter

Walter is a highly succesful CFO based in Aalst, Belgium. He provides financial management services focused on financial strategy, performance and compliance. His passions are ESG and Sustainability, and he loves to operate where finance, strategy and the circular economy meet. Through his company, MCSF, he delivers strategic financial services and management consulting in the circular economy. As a CFO, he excels at reversing underperforming operations, addressing tight cash situations, mitigating risk and maximizing opportunity; his strategic focus makes him a true expert at improving financial visibility and facilitating critical decision-making. As a management consultant, he helps companies adapt circular business models and obtain circular financing which support their engagement in the Circular Economy. Walter is a respected partner to the C-suite and Boards. Walter most recently executed a transformation project and provided interim CFO services for Cyclife in Sweden. Here he was able to drive change in a company with circular operations, improving productivity, gross margin, EBITDA and overall profitability, so justifying further investment by parent company EDF (Electricite de France). He has also held CFO roles with the international company Comin Asia, where he turned around a negative working capital situation and improved project margins by 15%, and in the start-up Besix-Stay, in which he led work to secure equity and debt funding. Prior to that, Walter held financial and executive leadership roles at Jacobs and Besix. During his tenure at Jacobs, he served as Finance Director for the MEA and West-Asia regions where his portfolio included the 2020 World Expo in Dubai and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. During his time with Besix, he acted as the Finance and Administration Manager on joint-ventures such as for the construction of the Burj Khalifa and led start-ups in the construction management and concrete production sectors.
