After completing my law studies at UGent, I did another specialization year in social law at ULB. Immediately after my studies, I started to work as a trainee lawyer at the law firm Sotra, where I mainly advised small and medium-sized companies on labor issues, both on a collective level (social relations with trade unions, changes to labor regulations, consequences of takeovers, etc.) and on an individual level (dismissals, warnings, payroll issues, etc.). I quickly realized that I prefer to be at the helm rather than giving advice. So after my internship, I decided to work within the corporate world. So I worked for 4 years as an HR manager at a wholesaler in electricity materials, which employed about 170 employees. I had an HR officer under me and was responsible for all personnel matters within the company, in addition, I was also an employer's representative in the Works Council and the CPBW.
