Why hire a freelancer?

Need an extra work force? Many companies invariably choose to hire a permanent employee. But why not opt for the benefits of being a freelancer? Below, we outline for you why hiring a freelancer is a smart move.

Flexibility, speed and freedom

The labor market is on the move. We note that the number of freelancers continues to rise. Not all companies have yet dared to take the step to flexible freelancers. However, this flexibility ensures that it is possible to switch quickly when there is a need for extra manpower. Just think of the loss of a permanent employee due to pregnancy or illness or the completion of a temporary project. Freelancers bring with them specific knowledge and as a company you do not need to hire anyone permanently.

The company's direct communication with the freelancer allows the whole process to be fast and efficient. In addition, the entrepreneurial spirit and passion of freelancers get you the desired results quickly. Freelancers can make quick decisions and don't just work from 9 to 5. You as a company propose the project and the freelancer does everything to guarantee the desired result.

As a company, you choose when you wish to end the collaboration. Do you see that the workload is decreasing? Or do you wish to hire someone else anyway? Then you can end the collaboration with the freelancer. After all, the collaboration is on a project basis and via temporary contracts so that you as a company are not tied to the freelancer. On the other hand, if you are very satisfied with the freelancer's contribution, you can of course choose that person again in the future. In this way, you also have the advantage that the cooperation feels increasingly familiar.

Get expertise in house

Freelancers usually have knowledge of a specific field that allows them to detail assignments within that niche. For example, are you looking for a marketing expert or an IT specialist? Then you will definitely find people with the right competencies in the pool of freelancers. Because freelancers work for a lot of different companies, they pick up some experience and new insights everywhere. Being independent also brings a lot of responsibilities, which indicates the entrepreneurial nature of freelancers.

Is your company in need of innovation? Even then you can hire a freelancer. Freelancers can provide your employees with a solid dose of knowledge or help implement new systems. In addition, freelancers can often offer a fresh perspective on certain situations. After all, employees often stick to their regular patterns.

Pay only for work done

Hiring a permanent employee often comes with a lot of obligations such as paying social security contributions, hospitalization insurance, sick pay and more. The high labor cost must also be added to that. Although the hourly rate of a freelancer is usually higher than that of a permanent employee, working with a freelancer is cheaper in the end. There is also a lot less administrative work to be done. Moreover, you can negotiate terms with the freelancer on a project-by-project basis. By working with a freelancer, you only pay for work that is actually delivered.

Motivation

Freelancers are highly motivated. After all, well done assignments contribute to the freelancer's signboard. By proving that they have brought previous projects to a successful conclusion, freelancers can convince new clients. Therefore, they will go out of their way to get good reviews. It is essential for a freelancer to maintain a good image.

Moreover, freelancers want to keep growing in their profession, so you as a company can enjoy a motivated freelancer who always stays up-to-date. Because freelancers have control over which projects they take on, they are always eager to start a new project.
